Start your adventure at HCPL

We have many items, resources, and activities for children and families to enjoy. Each of our branches has a browsing collection of picture books and junior fiction and nonfiction for your child to explore.

Children can sign up for a library card with the help of their guardian.

A library card is the start of a lifelong adventure.

— Lilian Jackson Braun (author of The Cat Who... series)

TD Summer Reading Club

Once again Haliburton County Public Library is participating in the TD Summer Reading Program. Children of all ages can drop by their local library branch to pick up a summer reading notebook. Notebooks are available for pre-readers and school-age readers, and include fun activities and reading goals. Return to any library branch before September 2 to show us your completed notebook, tell us what you read this summer, and grab a fun prize!

Stay tuned for more fun summer programs to come including a Story Walk, Mythical Creatures Quiz, Craft Time and more! Make sure to check out our event calendar and to follow us on social media for the latest Summer Reading Programs!

Happy Reading!
