Haliburton County Seed Library
What is a seed library?
A seed library is a source for free, local, open-pollinated, pesticide-free seeds.
How does it work?
Visitors can borrow seeds to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers for free from the library. All we ask in return is that you harvest seeds from your plants at the end of the growing season to restock our collection. This cycle of borrowing, growing, and returning seeds allows us to offer a healthy selection of locally adapted seeds, year after year.
Where is it located?
The Haliburton County Seed Library is offered at the Dysart, Minden Hills, Stanhope, and Wilberforce library branches.
